#2:  AUSTIN STATE HOSPITAL Performs With BRAVE COMBO!

In this situation we were not on a stage,  we were in a big gymnasium with a string partitioning us off from the residents.  This did not really act as a partition; rather, it suggested something that was not really there.

The hall was extremely reverberant, most of the sound was lost in it.

About 150 people there, the ones that were really into made requests like mad.  We played at least five tunes we’d never done before.

Some of the residents got into performing with us (Brian and Rocky), singing and playing the piano and drums, and announcing songs.  No one was hurt and a good time had by all.

Rick came down to help, Bob was shooting pictures, and Kathy came (she lives a mere few blocks away from ASH).  Mike Bridgewater came with us to write an article for CREEM magazine.
