WEDDING FOR LAURA DORSON AT THE FAIRMONT HOTEL, DALLAS

This wedding got us to work u the Yiddish circle dance, “Hava Nagila”, which is really a dynamite number.

The day before, we found that a mixup had occurred concerning our price – $300.   Laura had agreed with Carl on $300 but forgot and told her dad $200, so he called to see if we’d play for $250.  Carl said yes, but we wouldn’t be happy about it.  In the end Laura slipped us an extra check for $25 (don’t tell!)

Good Mexican food, liquor (no champagne!)  Happy people, many smiling faces and friends from Denton.  This was our first gig after Carl and I tuned his piano to my clarinet, I got many compliments on  my clarinet playing, esp. from the sax player in the Venetian room band.

We played a soft Muzak set to eat by, then they cur the cake to “The Farmer in the Dell.”  Then Hava Nagila circle dance, and Roll Out the Barrel.

$275 + food, etc.
