Carl Finch Inducted into the International Polka Association Hall of Fame
In a recent announcement from the International Polka Association, Carl Finch, leader of the nuclear polka band, Brave Combo, has been inducted into the International Polka Association Hall of Fame. The induction ceremony and awards presentation will be held at the IPA Polka Hall of Fame and Music Awards on Saturday, September 3, 2016, at the Millennium Hotel in Buffalo, New York, during the 48th annual IPA Polka Festival and Convention. Finch and his band, Brave Combo, have been helping to spread polka music to non-polka audiences, as well as traditional music fans, since 1979. Originally perceived by many as a joke or novelty act (making fun of polka), Brave Combo has long since silenced doubters and critics, becoming a mainstay in the polka industry and winning two Polka Grammy Awards. While introducing its unique take on the genre to an ever-expanding base of faithful followers, at festivals and concerts across the country, the Texas band exposes uninitiated listeners to the special sound of polka music and its many forms.

That’s wonderful.i go back to the very beginnings when I was a student at UNT and Tim Finch was in the band. There was a guy who went to a lot of the gigs and danced so wildly that it seemed unsafe to join him on the dance floor, especially at Swami’s.
Well it’s about time! The genre of Polka owes a big debt to Carl and the band (IMHO).
When I think of Polka I think of Brave Combo right along side the other Greats in the field.

Carl, you earned the honor…… I am retired oil/gas employee, investor, mineral owner. The fracking process is not the problem but the formation water that comes with production is injected into a zone that is over saturated. Producers have injected into these formation for years. However different states are starting to regulate how much fluid can be injected. Old wells have been water flooded for years to get as little as one barrel of oil with formation water as high as 500 bbls or more. This is the case in Oklahoma and other areas where orginal production has gone down . The industry will have to arrive at a solution or plug high volume wells if mandated by regulators.
