– The BIGGEST of them ALL:  MEXIA STATE SCHOOL –

Ms. Dixie met us and escorted us to the rec hall where we were to perform, past the popcorn that was being bagged for the party.  Was she ever proud of her state school!  She was obviously in authority here!  As Bob, Jane, and Tito played PIG basketball,  Dixie told Carl and me of the professional musicians who had played there and given her problems.

The dance itself was packed, about 400.  The residents seemed to enjoy getting up on the stage with us to show off their dancing abilities.  There were many “lovebirds” in this place.

I think they all liked us in this place and want us to come back.
