BRAVE COMBO follows “Antimoso and the Bear”
Originally scheduled to be a night for Tim Walsh to do whatever he wanted, as the ANTIMOSO people would be out of town – changed when they did not leave. We ended up getting 1/2 the door.
I got Danny Foster up from Austin and we did Irish tunes before the show. Flutes, tin whistles, and voice and drum. Dan told the “Gold Ring” story and we ended up being well received.
Antimoso was an excellent play.
All I remember is, we set up and played and it went over real well, I had a good time, and we all drank some beer and made some money and friends. There was a moment of panic when Tim’s truck broke and we couldn’t use it, but I was able to borrow Perry Combest’s old Chevy pickup for the weekend, He sold it to somebody else the next day.
Danny and I spent the night in the Hip Pocket, loaded up the next AM, and met everyone at the Ol South Pancake House on University Dr. Except Lyle, who came to help load and watched the truck while Dan and I ate breakfast.
